End of Shift Procedure

This section describes the procedure to put the instrument in safe conditions at the end of a shift.

  1. SA3 beamline
  • Stop mono scan.
  • Stop mono gap sync .
  • Set number of pulses to 1.
  • Stop injection to GATT (if the next injection is not expected to happen in the next 1 hour or more).
  • Insert pre-absorber.
  • Extract TPI.
  1. PP laser
  • Close the laser shutter.
  • Turn the key to disable the laser interlock.
  • Set the number of pulses to 1.
  • Stop delay scan.
  • Turn OFF the LT3 motor.
  • Stop the online monitoring tool for fine timing.
  1. SCS beamline
  • Close all beam line gate valves while monitoring the pressure in each section.
  • Insert B4C at DPS-2.
  1. MCPs or APDs (TIM, CHEM, XOX…)
  • Set all MCP and APD HV to zero and turn them OFF.
  1. XGM / HAMP
  • Set voltages of the HAMP h HV MP to zero, power off the corresponding channel.
  1. DSSC
  • Turn off the DSSC following the appropriate procedure.
  1. CHEM
  • Open filter towards hRIXS
  • Close valve towards hRIXS
  1. XRD
  • Open filter towards hRIXS
  • Close valve towards hRIXS
  • Turn off all XRD motors.
  1. hRIXS
  • Close all valves between vaccuum sections and towards bellows
  • Stop camera
  1. DAQ
  • Ignore data (in Run Controller scene) both in SCS and SA3 topics.
  1. Radiation interlock
  • Make sure the shutter can be safely closed.
  • Close the shutter.
  • Break the radiation interlock.
