Drawing of the diagnostic stage with the hutch reference axes.

The diagnostic stage hosts various components that allow characterization of both the FEL beam and the optical laser beam. It is mounted on X and two Y Smaract linear translators. The two Y axes are necessary to fully insert or extract the stage from the beam path.

In the current configuration (as of Elog 2881, October 2021), the stage host the following components:

  • pBN screen
  • Antenna for coarse timing
  • Fast InGaAs photodiode (small)
  • Large photodiode PD1 (broken connector) for knife-edge scan
  • Large photodiode PD2 for knife-edge scan
  • Large photodiode PD3 with 100 nm Al filter for X-ray knife-edge scan
  • Large InGaAs photodiode for knife-edge scan of IR laser
