Electromagnet before 2019-09-10¶
This page lists the parameters of the first version of the FFT electromagnet that was installed in the FFT end-station from the start of SCS operation up to the 10th of September 2019 when an improved version was put in place instead.

The magnetic field generated by the electromagnet is shown in

The temperature reached near the coil winding edge on the pole is shown in
electromagnet_temperature
. Combination of 5°C cooling and high water
flow-rate should keep the coil temperature <50°C when operating at 12 A in
vacuum.
